Engineering Lead Commercial Millwork/Cabinetry and Furniture Manufacturing
GA
Our client is a well established manufacturer with over 40 years of experience. Company manufactures commercial millwork/cabinetry and furniture for customers nationwide. They are looking for a lead engineer capable of managing multiple engineers while equally building and improving the departments capabilites.

Primary Responsibilities (in order of priority):
Microvellum Application Management
Management of MV libraries and coordination of MV release upgrades
Oversite of MV tickets submitted and resolution of software issues
Oversite of Spec Groups and support for other engineers with Spec group changes/mods
Development of product standards for hardware (ex: locks) to simplify MV for other engineers
General oversite of our MV software platform for the Engineering Team
Engineering Leadership
Assume leadership of the weekly Engineering meeting (Engineering, CNC Ops, Prod. Mgr)
Document changes required out of the meetings
Continue to monitor progress of changes ongoing
Microvellum Product Development and Release
Development of MV products and modification of existing products
Collaboration with Sales, PM and Production to develop products
Creation of parametric products when volume supports the effort
Release of products to CNC and Production once approved
Shop Drawings and Production Release Creation
Creation of Shop Drawings from architecturals or client feedback/meetings
Application of field dimensions and redlines
Release of products to CNC
Hardware/Software Selection
Analysis – Review of appropriate available solutions for future capabilities/needs
Recommendation – Selection of hardware/software with input from all departments
Implementation – Initial hardware/software implementation and ongoing adjustment as needed
(Examples may include – additional design software, new CNC equipment such as beamsaw,
laser cutter or 3D printer)
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in weekly Production meetings
Participate in post install job assessments with Sales/Production
Assist in site visits, customer meetings (ie. pitching-in)
Provide input into engineering/production on product improvements
Periodic participation in vendor forums such as MV Techcon, Autodesk, etc.
Future Responsibilities:
Develop an in-house training program for developing additional MV experienced team
members
Assist in expanding customer base out-of-market (primarily design discussions)
Assist in identifying new product opportunities
Recruiting of additional personnel
Education and Work Experience
10+ Years experience in Architectural millwork or related products
BS in Engineering discipline or comparable Science/Design degree program preferred
Software Knowledge
Extensive experience in Microvellum (Version 15 preferred)
· Platform management – libraries, versions, spec groups, etc.
· Library configuration – configuration to meet desired construction standards
· Product development – ability to develop complex, custom, parametric products
· Production flow – ability to structure individual and repetitive production releases
Extensive experience in Autocad 2D and 3D drafting
Leadership
Ability to provide leadership to a team of 3-5 engineers with varying experience
Ability to function as part of the leadership team (GM, Prod. Mgr, Sales Leads, etc)
$60K - $90K starting salary commensurate of experience
