POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for assigning work to and daily training of maintenance millwrights to ensure work is completed in a timely, safe, and professional manner. Internally the position interfaces with co-workers and employees to ensure the smooth operation of the facility, coordinates work with production to prevent unnecessary down time and adjusts work schedules to accommodate emergency breakdowns. Primary challenges to this position include meeting production targets, maintaining staffing requirements within budget, meeting quality guidelines and maintaining alignment between all departments through effective communication. The position has the authority to train and direct the workforce within the prescribed policies, procedures, and regulations of the operation. Prepare and submit Cost to Complete (CTC) to Accounting team monthly. • Confer with Installation, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems. • Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs. • Coordinate schedule & potential conflicts with structural, electrical, mechanical, & other subs. • Plan, research, and coordinate Project Team to perform post-mortem reviews on all projects. Present findings to Finance and Management teams. • Develop, mentor, and train employees in all aspects of our process and across all departments; engage project teams during drawing, shop, and site reviews to teach and train; act as ambassadors for our project teams when interfacing customers and vendors. • Develop and nurtures relationships with contractors, developers, and design teams in the pursuit of future project opportunities and relays information to the Sales and Estimating Team. • Other duties as required. Essential Functions and Responsibilities • Coordinate and direct employees to ensure proper completion of all projects. • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production timelines and goals. • Train, cross-train, and evaluate staff to maximize work performance. • Conduct performance evaluations on a 90-day and annual basis. • Ensure employees are following call-in/tardy procedure and report any absences to HR in a timely matter. • Ensure all employees are performing their assigned duties and of excellent quality. • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to insure it is running properly. • Complete product in the time frame given by Production Manager(s). • Ensure all products are finished with accurate materials and without any emissions. • Communicate closely with other Supervisors, Project Managers, and Production Manager to ensure all aspects run smoothly including change orders and rework. • Evaluate the production process to identify changes and implement processes that will increase finish room productivity and efficiency. • Assist in shop organization and cleanliness of the finishing room. • Apply appropriate finishes to correct materials. • Communicate with other finishers and shop employees to ensure proper application, selection, and finishing. • Ensure all inventory is stored in a safe manner per safety regulations (stains, laquers, masks, etc). • Ensure employees are properly disposing rags, cleaners, etc. • Other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal • Ability to summarize and communicate orally in person or over the telephone and in written form over email. • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in finishing production. • Knowledge of the Cabinet industry, its finish application, and its operation flow. • Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions. • Knowledge of different wood species and products that may be used. • Ability to read and understand plans, blueprints, drawings, and other construction documents. • Knowledge of principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. • Team orientated. • Ability to analyze and evaluate information to make decisions. • Ability to develop efficient production procedures with little supervision. Requirements • High School Diploma • Five years of finishing experience • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends when necessary • Overtime as required Hourly commensurate pay of $25-$40.00 with full benefits to include Health, Dental, Simple IRA, PTO and Holiday pay. Summary The Commercial Project Managers are responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all job activities including preparing, producing, and delivering products. Essential Functions and Responsibilities • Plan, organize, and direct activities to ensure job activities stay on schedule and deadlines are met. • Communicate with General Contractors and Architects to clarify any inconsistencies and resolve any design conflicts. • Ensure accurate contracts. • Properly measure on site dimensions to verify that specified designs are accurate and work within construction methods. • Manages several jobs at once while meeting deadlines and constantly communicating with contractors. • Read prints and specifications in order to understand all aspects of a project. • Work closely with drafters to ensure product is drawn according to prints and meets regulations. • Determine material orders and keep accurate records for all projects. • Ensure all materials are on hand when needed for production. • Understand the types of materials that are needed to construct a job properly. • Correctly fill in product take offs, change order forms, and job order request sheets. • Communicate with purchasing agent about product samples and delivery dates. • Ensure production folders are complete and accurate and to the shop in a timely manner. • Ensure adequate notice on buyouts. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Business Management or two or more years of Project Management experience • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends when necessary • Must possess a vaild MN driver’s license and pass a Motor Vehicle check. Work Conditions and Physical Demands • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. • Ability to travel and visit building sites for meetings, measurements, and other job specific gatherings as needed. • High proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs. • Capable of carrying, moving, and lifting up to 50 pounds when needed. • Occasional exposure to contaminants such as dust or other odors. • May be required to occasionally be around hazardous equipment. • Periodic exposure to loud noises and sounds. • Regular office environment.
