Title Assembly Supervisor
Reports to Production Manager
Job summary:  Assign custom assembly projects to personnel and provide guidance on completing projects, acquiring all materials needed to complete individual tasks.   Communicate with Production Manager on schedule deadlines and priorities, assign projects to Project Specialist and Team Leader Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to complete duties and responsibilities of Custom Assembler
  • Complete packing list including pulling all hardware
  • Open/close shop and make sure all equipment is ready/shut down for the day
  • Assign projects to Team Custom Assemblers keeping priorities in line with production schedule
  • Manage and adjust manpower according to the schedule and coordinate schedule with the Production Manager
  • Attend production meetings with Production Manager as scheduled
  • Communicate production floor progress to Production Manager, make adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines
  • Print, distribute and organize all paperwork involved for projects (i.e. Trakker Reports and packing lists)
  • Communicate with Team Leaders on responses to production emails
  • Support all Assembly personnel by providing guidance, answering questions, acquiring materials and troubleshooting problems. This will require coordination with department leaders to track down problems/issues and create solutions
  • Completes special requests as required by Production Manager
  • Work with other department Supervisors communicating any needs and requests to meet production deadlines
  • Enforce Safety Policy/Procedures
  • Enforce all attendance and workplace rules and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Production Manager and Human Resources for any violation of company safety policies and/or work rules
  • Responsible for cross training of employees
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all equipment/machinery in the respective department
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Posses knowledge, skills and abilities of Custom Assembler
  • Advanced skill in reading, interpreting and troubleshooting engineer blueprints & cut bills
  • Skill to organize production paperwork according to Trakker and the Production Manager
  • Skill to follow production schedule and keep production on track to meet deadlines
  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish candidates are preferred.
Experience required:
  • 10 years' experience as a Custom Assembler
  • 2 years' experience in a Supervisory capacity

We have been in business since 1963. Our plant size is 175,000 square feet. We are in the process of seeking an Engineer that has 5-10 years’ experience. The individual must have skills to communicate the fabrication and materials required for a particular product using AutoCAD and Microvellum all the while working with the plant to fabricate in the most efficient manner. We are willing to train the right individual in Microvellum. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control to make sure engineering is done on-time and on/under budget.
  • Implement drawing and processing automation in Engineering.
  • Direct material takeoff generation and identify long lead time items to issue requisitions to purchasing.
  • Based on scheduling priorities, work with Project Managers to make sure drawings are done on-time and released to production in time such that manufacturing can work efficiently to meet required delivery dates.
  • Coordinate with Installation crews and field issues.
  • Attend meetings with Project Management and Estimating Departments.
  • Implement drawing and processing automation in Engineering.
  • Evaluate and suggest value engineering changes that do not change the designer’s intent.
  • Individual will report to the engineering manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • 5-10 years’ experience in managing architectural millwork and fixture projects.
  • We are willing to train.
  • Master of AutoCAD 2020
  • Knowledge of Microvellum (a Plus)6.7 & 7.0
  • Knowledge in Trade Soft Software (Project Pak & Shop Pak)
  • Understanding of CNC & all Machining Processes
  • Microsoft Office Products
  • Shop Experience (a Plus)
  • AWI Construction Methods (a Plus)
  • Samples of ability to produce detailed shop drawings including construction details.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Support and promote a cohesive flow of information between the Engineering and Manufacturing departments

  • Act in the capacity of a lead engineer when required.
  • Work with ERP team to implement Shop PAK into the engineering & material request process.
  • Review all internal or external submittal drawings with lead engineers & operations prior to submittal.
  • Work with Cut Bill manager to implement a more efficient process that meets the shop requirements, increases accuracy, & reduces the RTS lead times.
  • Assume all managerial responsibilities regarding hiring, termination, performance reviews, expense reports, & promotions.
  • Work with field manager to ensure product design is efficient & cost conscious with regards to offload & installation.
  • Ensure the casework manufacturing process & software is efficient, flexible, & cost effective.
  • Develop, maintain, & implement a defined schedule & clear process for outsourcing submittals & RTV drawings to insure they are submitted correctly and on time.
  • Maintain a capacity scheduling tool that will identify accurate/data driven capacity constraints and availability in the Engineering and Cut-Bill departments
  • Review all Material Request costs with estimated budgets to ensure departments are cost conscience & a profit center.
  • Manage the departmental annual budget to the realistic targets provided.
  • Implement strategies by identifying early opportunities for screen to machine and/or direct RTS.
  • Work with Operations Team to ensure all manufacturing departments are consistently at 90% capacity.

The Finish Room Supervisor is responsible for supervising finish room employees. The Finish Room Supervisor directly coordinates the activities of production and assures timelines are met in coordination with the production manager.   Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and direct employees to ensure proper completion of all projects.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production timelines and goals.
  • Train, cross-train, and evaluate staff to maximize work performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations on a 90-day and annual basis.
  • Ensure employees are following call-in/tardy procedure and report any absences to HR in a timely matter.

  • Ensure all inventory is stored in a safe manner per safety regulations (stains, laquers, masks, etc).
  • Ensure employees are properly disposing rags, cleaners, etc.

Job Description Responsible for profitably estimating job opportunities for millwork projects of varying size and complexity. Estimates are derived from the bidder’s ability to accurately predict the amount of fabrication, finishing, and installation hours, in addition to the cost of raw materials for every unique project. A successful estimator must have an expansive hands-on knowledge of various fabrication and installation processes to meet the minimum requirements of this position. The Estimator will review bid invites and other opportunities as they arise to determine whether Company will accept or decline the invitation. Estimator’s primary responsibility is compiling project estimates and ensure Company commitments in regard to the bid schedule are accomplished. Effectively communicating and promptly following-up with external clients is an essential function required to be successful in this position.Eligibility Requirements · Estimate number of fab, finish, and install hours required to complete the project, along with assessing cost and availability of raw goods. · Develop and maintain a daily bid schedule, and adhere to customer’s deadlines · Assess bid opportunities to determine feasibility of providing proposals on promising prospects. · Plot, read, interpret, and understand architectural and shop drawings · Complete takeoffs of architectural bid drawings then compile pricing estimate and a project scope of work using tools and software available · Research & source specified materials and obtain price quotes from vendors, suppliers, or subcontractors · Price, negotiate, compose, and issuance of project proposals to clientele · Negotiate with prospects throughout bid stages; provide value engineering, breakdown pricing, alternates · Participate in both internal/external meetings to actively collaborate with coordination of project requirements · Communicate with clients, vendors, and team members via phone, email, fax, or in person on a daily basis. Putting together clear, thorough RFI’s for each project being quoted, to get answers needed. Gather pricing from Vendors for Materials, Hardware, etc. for projects being quoted. Weekly meetings with President of company & members of Estimating Department. Creating & establishing standard templates for use in simplifying Quoting process. Creating CAD Drawings & Submittal Packets for Samples / Mockups, with the following considerations: Engineering, Structural Integrity, Physical Operation, Hardware Compatibility, Weatherproofing Installation & Waterproofing Demands, Design, Appearance, Schedules & Budgets. Establishing a standard catalog of written text & terminology, to be re‐used on future projects.   Eligibility Requirements: 5+ years of computer use & knowledge of various software. 3+ years of proven office skills Proficient in Word, Excel, AutoCAD 2D, 3D, Bluebeam, Salesforce, and other software Able to read and enter information with detailed accuracy.
