SUMMARY The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing multiple mediu-m to large scale woodworking projects, ensuring budget, schedule, quality, and customer service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Set up and manage projects in operations system, ensuring proper creation of work orders, labor and material budgets, and schedule. • Plan, organize, and direct activities within the Project Team and assign responsibilities, tasks, and priorities as needed to ensure project requirements are met. • Research specifications, costs, production materials and manufacturing methods, and provide labor and cost budget recommendations and itemized production requirements. • Research buyout opportunities and complex items, and assist Purchasing and Engineering in RFQ’s, negotiations and requisitioning. • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with subcontractors and suppliers. • Evaluate feasibility of designs, based on factors such as technical feasibility, function, budget, and production costs/methods. • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, establishing project requirements, priorities, status, schedule, and potential risk areas or issues. • Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines. • Setup project folders in company directory and maintain all project documentation according to company procedures. • Identify project insurance, permit, license, and tax requirements and coordinate with Accounting and Contracts team. • Prepare transmittals, schedule of values, RFI’s, change order submissions, samples for shipping, and updates to budgets and schedules. • Process monthly pays requisitions and performs follow-ups to ensure timely receipt of billings. • Direct and coordinate the design, fabrication, and shipment of mockups and samples. • Manage project execution and monitor adherence to budget, scope, and schedule. • Prepare project status reports weekly by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information trends; present reports at weekly Projects Meeting and develop action plans with Project Teams to investigate and resolve variances, issues, and risk areas. • Make Cost to Complete (CTC) entries weekly in operations system for material, labor, & general condition overruns. Prepare and submit Cost to Complete (CTC) to Accounting team monthly. • Confer with Installation, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems. • Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs. • Coordinate schedule & potential conflicts with structural, electrical, mechanical, & other subs. • Plan, research, and coordinate Project Team to perform post-mortem reviews on all projects. Present findings to Finance and Management teams. • Develop, mentor, and train employees in all aspects of our process and across all departments; engage project teams during drawing, shop, and site reviews to teach and train; act as ambassadors for our project teams when interfacing customers and vendors. • Develop and nurtures relationships with contractors, developers, and design teams in the pursuit of future project opportunities and relays information to the Sales and Estimating Team. • Other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Core Requirements: • Must be a strategic thinker, possess strong leadership skills, and able to communicate with customers and at all levels of the organization. • Ability to effectively work in a team environment, including ability to delegate, take/follow directives, maintain professional demeanor, and demonstrate respect for all employees. • Demonstrates organizational and communication skills when interacting with internal departments and external customers. • Demonstrates professionalism, company, and industry knowledge and can effectively represent the company in a positive light in front of current and potential customers. • Must be a quick thinker, problem solver and be able to handle difficult situations as they arise in production, with contractors, and on job sites. • Demonstrate clarity, urgency, and follow through in managing multiple projects. • Expert ability to read and understand blueprints. • Will be required to travel to the job sites to field measure and oversee projects. Education And/Or Experience: • Two (2) to four (4) year certificates from college or technical school; and at least ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Extensive experience & strong business knowledge of construction & woodworking industries. • Expert knowledge of and experience in project management methodology. • Expert knowledge & experience with AWS, QCP, FSC, and LEED programs and requirements.   • Monitor and control to make sure engineering is done on-time and on/under budget.
  • Implement drawing and processing automation in Engineering.

  • Based on scheduling priorities, work with Project Managers to make sure drawings are done on-time and released to production in time such that manufacturing can work efficiently to meet required delivery dates.
  • Coordinate with Installation crews and field issues.
  • Attend meetings with Project Management and Estimating Departments.
  • Implement drawing and processing automation in Engineering.
  • Evaluate and suggest value engineering changes that do not change the designer’s intent.
  • Individual will report to the engineering manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • 5-10 years’ experience in managing architectural millwork and fixture projects.

  • Ensure all employees are performing their assigned duties and of excellent quality.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to insure it is running properly.
  • Complete product in the time frame given by Production Manager(s).
  • Ensure all products are finished with accurate materials and without any emissions.
  • Communicate closely with other Supervisors, Project Managers, and Production Manager to ensure all aspects run smoothly including change orders and rework.
  • Evaluate the production process to identify changes and implement processes that will increase finish room productivity and efficiency.
  • Assist in shop organization and cleanliness of the finishing room.
  • Apply appropriate finishes to correct materials.
  • Communicate with other finishers and shop employees to ensure proper application, selection, and finishing.
  • Ensure all inventory is stored in a safe manner per safety regulations (stains, laquers, masks, etc).
  • Ensure employees are properly disposing rags, cleaners, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
      Knowledge and Skills
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to summarize and communicate orally in person or over the telephone and in written form over email.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in finishing production.
  • Knowledge of the Cabinet industry, its finish application, and its operation flow.
  • Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge of different wood species and products that may be used.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, blueprints, drawings, and other construction documents.
  • Knowledge of principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Team orientated.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information to make decisions.
  • Ability to develop efficient production procedures with little supervision.
  Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Five years of finishing experience
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends when necessary
  • Overtime as required

Job Description: Developing and implement policy, and procedures performed in the Engineering department. Research, Evaluate and Implement software tools used by the department and development of long-term strategic plans such as new software systems and new production machinery. Provides opportunities for reports to develop the full potential of their individual skills and abilities while striving for continuous improvement in all aspects of company operations. Manage the department to complete assigned tasks on time and maintain outstanding attendance. Eligibility Requirements: Microvellum proficient. Assists in developing and maintaining design and drawing standards and maintaining and updating drawing files. Experience in review of technical work of the department in the engineering of products including Design Engineering, Bill of Material and Router creation and maintenance, specification of materials, procurement of materials, fabrication of prototypes, optimization and programming of products/parts, Cut Lists, Saw Optimizations, and Material release documents. Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to create design drawings from written and verbal instruction. Ability to read and interpret complex drawings. Assist in developing manufacturing routers with times assigned to each process. Develops CNC Machine Code, Creates Production Work Orders, Issue Material release orders and Engineering packages to production. Maintains the Engineering production schedule in the system.
