- Coordinate and direct employees to ensure proper completion of all projects.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production timelines and goals.
- Train, cross-train, and evaluate staff to maximize work performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations on a 90-day and annual basis.
- Ensure employees are following call-in/tardy procedure and report any absences to HR in a timely matter.
- Ensure all employees are performing their assigned duties and of excellent quality.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to insure it is running properly.
- Complete product in the time frame given by Production Manager(s).
- Ensure all products are finished with accurate materials and without any emissions.
- Communicate closely with other Supervisors, Project Managers, and Production Manager to ensure all aspects run smoothly including change orders and rework.
- Evaluate the production process to identify changes and implement processes that will increase finish room productivity and efficiency.
- Assist in shop organization and cleanliness of the finishing room.
- Apply appropriate finishes to correct materials.
- Communicate with other finishers and shop employees to ensure proper application, selection, and finishing.
- Ensure all inventory is stored in a safe manner per safety regulations (stains, laquers, masks, etc).
- Ensure employees are properly disposing rags, cleaners, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
- Ability to summarize and communicate orally in person or over the telephone and in written form over email.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in finishing production.
- Knowledge of the Cabinet industry, its finish application, and its operation flow.
- Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions.
- Knowledge of different wood species and products that may be used.
- Ability to read and understand plans, blueprints, drawings, and other construction documents.
- Knowledge of principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Team orientated.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate information to make decisions.
- Ability to develop efficient production procedures with little supervision.
- High School Diploma
- Five years of finishing experience
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends when necessary
- Overtime as required

Job Description Responsible for meeting with customers, decorators, and contractors to help design custom cabinets and countertops to meet all their needs of form and function. As a Designer, you will manage the project from start to finish including showroom consultations, on-site measures, estimating, AutoCAD layout and design, working with the drafting team to create accurate drawings, ordering materials, and follow project through production to installation. Travel in a company supplied vehicle to job sites to meet contractors and/or homeowners is required. Eligibility Requirements Produce highest quality/accurate and detailed layouts from blueprints utilizing CAD design software. Provide design recommendations to customers based upon product knowledge and best practices. Respond to customer inquiries regarding design layout. Troubleshoot blueprints for inconsistencies compared to specifications and/or field conditions. Organize and communicate design projects to homeowners, contractors, and decorators. Provide material take off to purchasing agent with special attention to unique materials for a project. Understand customer requirements and analyze request for potential obstacles before implementing systematic changes. Research and answer installation questions from installers. JOB SUMMARY
Perform a wide variety of mixing, matching and applications of various finishes to wood products where color matching varies from, difficult to routine; assign, instruct and assist other finishers.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepare and submit finished samples for approval. Develop colors, shades, gloss, etc, and determine type and amount of material required. Use most time efficient methods to achieve desired result. Apply a wide variety of finishing materials such as stain, fillers, lacquer, varnish, etc., using various methods including wiping, spraying, brushing, etc. Use hand-held Air operated equipment such as spray guns, flat line finish machine, heavy and light sanders, rotary buffers, etc., to obtain desired final finish. Prepare and apply materials to repair damage from shipping, sanding errors, other defects. Mask parts as required. On occasion, assign, train, and retrain, instruct, assist and monitor work of assistant finishers to ensure quality and efficiency of output. Coordinate with purchasing to order material required and maintain inventory of commonly used finishes. See that all finishing materials are properly identified and stored according to safety regulations and laws. See that the finishing area and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly condition and that all safety rules, regulations and practices are observed and followed. Keep and maintain various required production records, logs or other data. Perform other similar duties as assigned or instructed by supervisor.
