Job summary: The Field Superintendent manages and oversees all aspects of field activity for assigned projects.  Managing and directing sub-contractor personnel to achieve budget, schedule and quality while also supporting Project Management and Engineering through concise communication of field conditions and coordinating with other trades for successful execution of project design. Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  1. Review drawings for installation concerns.
  2. Procure field dimensions and coordinate hold-to dimensions.
  3. Confirm hold-to dimensions as soon as possible.
  4. Facilitate installers and other sub-contractors getting on site with safety, badging etc.
  5. Determine manpower requirements to maintain schedule and budget.
  6. Direct installers for proper layout and quality assurance.
  7. Submit daily reports with manhours, notes and pictures.
  8. Manage sub-contractor tickets to maintain budget.
  9. Issue tickets to GC for approval prior to additional work.
  10. Manage all costs in the field to maximize budget while maintaining schedule and quality.
  11. Manage client expectations.
  12. Coordinate with GC and other trades for efficient and effective job flow.
  13. Provide prompt feedback to PM on deliveries for any damages or missing items.
  14. Drive timelines towards completion.
  15. Submit field work orders to PM with clear information.
  16. Pre-punch all installed work prior to GC, architect or owner punch list.
  17. Manage completion of all punch work.
  18. Coordinate schedule of stone templates and review templating accuracy.
  19. Coordinate schedule of stone install and review quality.
  20. Forecast hurdles to success and develop plan to resolve.
  21. Attend jobsite meetings
  22. Ensure that installed product is and remains protected.
  23. Ensure that jobsites are run safe, clean and organized.
  24. Enforce quality standards.
  25. Achieve project schedule.
  26. Maintain budget.

  • Act in the capacity of a lead engineer when required.
  • Work with ERP team to implement Shop PAK into the engineering & material request process.

  • Assume all managerial responsibilities regarding hiring, termination, performance reviews, expense reports, & promotions.
  • Work with field manager to ensure product design is efficient & cost conscious with regards to offload & installation.
  • Ensure the casework manufacturing process & software is efficient, flexible, & cost effective.
  • Develop, maintain, & implement a defined schedule & clear process for outsourcing submittals & RTV drawings to insure they are submitted correctly and on time.
  • Maintain a capacity scheduling tool that will identify accurate/data driven capacity constraints and availability in the Engineering and Cut-Bill departments
  • Review all Material Request costs with estimated budgets to ensure departments are cost conscience & a profit center.
  • Manage the departmental annual budget to the realistic targets provided.
  • Implement strategies by identifying early opportunities for screen to machine and/or direct RTS.
  • Work with Operations Team to ensure all manufacturing departments are consistently at 90% capacity.

  • On a timely basis, submits RFIs to General Contractor and follows up as needed.
  • Utilizes (1) company price guidelines to price all millwork produced internally, (2) secures prices from multitude of vendors for materials required from external sources, and (3) works with VP Purchasing to price finishing, solid surface, and installation requirements.
  • Summits bid according to requirements provided by General Contractor
  • Within a reasonable period of time, follows up with General Contractor on the status of the bid.
  • May be required to attend scope meeting with General Contractor
  • May be required to provide value engineering suggestions to General Contractor
  • When a bid is successful, collaborates with the assigned Project Manager in identifying and explaining the requirements for millwork.
  • May be required to price, or assist with pricing, Change Orders as requested by the Project Manager.
  Preferred requirements:
  • College Degree or minimum of 2 years of trade school architectural design
  • 5 years’ experience in similar capacity with commercial architectural millwork company with sales of >$10,000,000
  • Detailed oriented and able to work independently
  • Highly organized and successful in meeting deadlines
  • Very familiar with AWI Quality Standards
  • Strong computer skills
  • Very familiar with all forms of architectural millwork materials

The Finish Room Supervisor is responsible for supervising finish room employees. The Finish Room Supervisor directly coordinates the activities of production and assures timelines are met in coordination with the production manager.   Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and direct employees to ensure proper completion of all projects.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production timelines and goals.
  • Train, cross-train, and evaluate staff to maximize work performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations on a 90-day and annual basis.
  • Ensure employees are following call-in/tardy procedure and report any absences to HR in a timely matter.
  • Ensure all employees are performing their assigned duties and of excellent quality.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to insure it is running properly.
  • Complete product in the time frame given by Production Manager(s).
  • Ensure all products are finished with accurate materials and without any emissions.
  • Communicate closely with other Supervisors, Project Managers, and Production Manager to ensure all aspects run smoothly including change orders and rework.
  • Evaluate the production process to identify changes and implement processes that will increase finish room productivity and efficiency.
  • Assist in shop organization and cleanliness of the finishing room.
  • Apply appropriate finishes to correct materials.
  • Communicate with other finishers and shop employees to ensure proper application, selection, and finishing.
  • Ensure all inventory is stored in a safe manner per safety regulations (stains, laquers, masks, etc).
  • Ensure employees are properly disposing rags, cleaners, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
      Knowledge and Skills
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to summarize and communicate orally in person or over the telephone and in written form over email.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in finishing production.
  • Knowledge of the Cabinet industry, its finish application, and its operation flow.
  • Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge of different wood species and products that may be used.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, blueprints, drawings, and other construction documents.
  • Knowledge of principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Team orientated.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information to make decisions.
  • Ability to develop efficient production procedures with little supervision.

  • Five years of finishing experience
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends when necessary

Description: AutoCAD/Microvellum Drafter Architectural Millwork. Activities including preparing/updating detailed digital drawings for projects, preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings and managing CAD data to guide the production and installation of projects as required by the client. Coordinate the collection of data and incorporate this information into drawings. Responsibilities • Creates shop drawings using AutoCAD software • Reads and interprets architectural drawings/bid documents • Creates detailed design documentation. • Research materials and aids in the selection of materials for the products • Produces final design specifications • Maintains good communication with client to ensure drawings meet and/or exceed expectations • Recommends sequencing of work in conjunction with Production Manager • Revises and updates existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with the Project Manager to ensure consistent documentation of the project • Manages multiple projects simultaneously • Provides information throughout the various proposal, engineering and construction phases to the project teams with regard to all aspects of the project • Provides technical expertise to the project execution team • Maintains notes, design calculations and other documentation (like drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, and performance guarantees) for reference throughout the project in electronic files Nest and other related software being used • Develops innovative ideas and alternatives to be cost competitive where possible • Participates in hand-off meetings to ensure team has a complete understanding of project, production schedule and installation requirements Education and Experience • Three years of experience with AutoCAD and associated tools. • Three years of experience in reading and interpreting architectural and/or plans and specifications to produce shop drawing accurately and efficiently. • Experience in commercial millwork • Thorough understanding of how woodworking technology works, CNC, Edge banding, doweling, clamps, etc. Cnc experience is required. Must be able to communicate auto cad with Onsrud CNC.   Relocation is offered.   Salary is $70-$100K commensurate on experience   Paid Holidays Vacation/ personal days negotiable upon hire. As a Designer, you will manage the project from start to finish including showroom consultations, on-site measures, estimating, AutoCAD layout and design, working with the drafting team to create accurate drawings, ordering materials, and follow project through production to installation. Travel in a company supplied vehicle to job sites to meet contractors and/or homeowners is required. Eligibility Requirements Produce highest quality/accurate and detailed layouts from blueprints utilizing CAD design software. Provide design recommendations to customers based upon product knowledge and best practices. Respond to customer inquiries regarding design layout.
