Job description
We are looking for a Commercial Millwork/Cabinet Estimator with experience to work in creating accurate estimates for large commercial projects. We are a growing laminate cabinet and architectural millwork manufacturer making commercial cabinetry and other furnishings for large schools, hospitals, public event areas and other commercial buildings.
What you will be doing:
- Working directly with architects, contractors, and project managers to prepare estimates for millwork and commercial casework.
- Helping to prepare detailed take offs by using plan sets provided by architects and contractors.
- Reviewing detailed specifications to determine material types to be used and putting into a detailed spreadsheet used by our engineers on the production drawings.
- Reviewing provided drawings for completeness and accuracy to develop a complete scope coverage.
- Using various computer programs Excel, Word and other proprietary software. Use of some auto-cad is also required.
What else will you being doing:
- Help develop project schedules and schedules of value breakdowns for the projects once they are landed.
- Documenting your work for future use by engineering teams.
- Collecting data and incorporating this information into a form to be used by drafters and engineers.
This position requires a smart, detail-oriented person who can read blueprints in detail including plan pages, elevations, and finish schedules. An individual who can interpret drawings to create a detailed estimate.
But technical expertise is not the only thing. We are also wanting to find is:
Someone who takes their job seriously (i.e., shows up ahead of time, comes ready to work, and demonstrates by their own example what a good work ethic is supposed to look like). Someone who is self-disciplined and self-directed to be able to stay on-task and works well without a high degree of direct supervision. Must be a team player.
There are a few requirements for the job that must be met:
- The individual must have experience with computers.
- Individual needs to be able to demonstrate experience doing similar work using AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Good communication skills are a must along with the ability to learn quickly as the job is fast paced and has set timelines for completion.
- Must be willing to do what it takes to complete the bidding process, including overtime if required to meet deadlines.
- All applicants must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and be able to maintain drug-free status to work for our team.

Salary: $ 60,000.00 plus depending on experience level
Expected hours: 45 per week.
