Position Overview:
Will be responsible for interpreting and working from detailed architectural and shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints. Key duties include preparing and setting up machines for woodwork manufacturing, operating woodworking machinery (such as saws, milling, and sanding machines), and ensuring all products meet industry standards and project specifications. This role requires both technical woodworking expertise and attention to detail in maintaining equipment and assembling finished products.
Responsibilities:
• Interpret architectural and shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Set up woodworking machines, including saws, milling, and sanding machines, for manufacturing wood components.
• Lift and handle wood pieces, ensuring they are securely placed on machines.
• Operate woodworking machines to fabricate components per project specifications.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality and compliance with standards, adjusting as necessary.
• Use hand tools for trimming and assembling products as needed.
• Maintain machines through regular cleaning, oiling, and blade replacement.
• Assist with the installation of cabinetry, as required.
Experience & Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the woodworking industry, woodworking shop, or related design field.
• Proficiency in CNC programming and design.
• Experience with Biesse CNC machines is a plus.
• Familiarity with Cabinetvision design software.
• Experience with dowel case goods, plastic laminate, and custom fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings, conduct material takeoffs, and quantify materials.
• Physical ability to lift to 50 lbs. and fabricate cabinetry and furniture as needed.
Education/Certification:
• High school diploma required.
• Training in computer applications and automated machinery, particularly CNC machines.
• Strong working knowledge of basic math and geometry skills to fabricate three-dimensional cabinetry and furniture.
• OSHA-10 Certification
• Vocational-technical or college coursework is a plus.
• Relevant certifications or licenses are a bonus
