Position will require signing a (1) one-year employment agreement. Agreement auto renews annually.

Job Description

Review all online plan rooms and invitation to bid. Filter and select bids of interest along with Chief Estimator. Complete Pre-Bid checklists.

Create a digital bid file with all documents organized.

Review plans and specifications divisions 1, 6 & 12, as well as any other divisions we have been requested to bid and select pertinent documents for printing.

Locate all relevant scope of work, highlight, separate and complete takeoff for standard cabinets, millwork specialty items. Alternate scopes, value engineering options and optional adds.

Submit RFI’s to architect and/or GCs for all items that lack clarity or have discrepancies.

Request & gather all vendor quotes prior to bid date.

Prepare Excel documents for takeoffs and Word documents for bids, with detailed scope inclusions & exclusions.

Maintain knowledge of all in-house production & outsourced scopes.

Submit bids to GCs on Bid date.

Schedule bid follow ups to determine bid award status.

Document all bid outcomes on tracking spreadsheets, determine causes of all non-awards and come up with strategic shifts required to improve award ratio.

Help generate new business by establishing new bidding relationships and continuously improving existing relationships with GC’s, Architects, Designers and Vendors.

Review project scope and budget with project management and drafting department prior to start of shop drawings.

Engage in continuous education, industry guidelines, materials, news and developments.

Eligibility Requirements

Experience in construction estimating and bidding (Architectural Casework and Millwork preferred)

Experience in the manufacturing of such with emphasis on Educational and Institutional facilities.

Experience preparing proposals for projects of varied scope.

Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy and quality.

Ability to independently exercise business judgement, while always considering the customer and company’s best interests.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, influencing, negotiating and assertiveness.

Ability to prioritize tasks, between projects and communicate such.
